Paypi (Pty) Ltd (“Buzz” or the “Company”) is committed to maintaining a safe and sound operating environment for all stakeholders.
We care about your personal information and will always store and encrypt this data safely. Buzz will never share this information with third parties without your explicit consent. Applicability of Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to all information we collect through, but not limited to, our web and mobile applications from Buzz users.
Throughout this policy, we use the term "personal information" to describe information that can be associated with a specific person and can be used to identify that person. We do not consider personal information to include information that has been anonymised so that it does not identify a specific user.
Personal Information
When you visit the website or use our mobile applications, we collect your IP address, and standard web log information, such as your browser type and the pages you accessed on our website. We also may collect certain geo-location information. If you do not agree to our collection of this information, you may not be able to use our service.
If you open an account, we collect the following information from you:
- Mobile Number
- Mobile Device Type & ID
- Identification Information: first name, surname, email address
- Profile Photograph
- Financial Information: bank account number and branch code linked to your Buzz account. Buzz does not share this information with third parties. This data is encrypted using the latest encryption methods.
- Card Details: Buzz does not store your credit/debit card details, ever. All cards are tokenised and encrypted by PayGate (https://paygate.co.za), who is a PCI DSS Level 1 Certified Payment Gateway. The Buzz team and stakeholders have no access to this information and will never attempt to share this information with third parties.
As we continue to grow and develop the Buzz payment ecosystem, we will always put your safety and privacy first. As our product offering grows, we may require additional personal information from you in order to manage risk and be compliant with all applicable legislation and regulation. As stated, we will never share this information and all data is encrypted.
When you are using the Buzz Service, we collect information about your behaviour on the Buzz platform. We collect this information to ensure that all users are safe and for fraud protection and other similar risks. This includes, but is not limited to, payment history, topup history, withdrawal history and wallet balance history. We will also store all communication with our support staff in order to improve our service to you.
How We Use Cookies
When you access the Buzz website, we, or companies we hire to track how our website is used, may place small data files called "cookies" on your computer. These cookies help us identify and recognise users frequently visiting our website and allow us to improve our service. You are free to decline Buzz cookies if your browser permits, but doing so may interfere with your use of the website.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure security on our systems. By using the Buzz Service, you agree that Buzz may communicate with you electronically. Buzz may post a notice on the website if a security breach occurs. We may also send an email to you at the email address you have provided to us. Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to receive notice of a security breach in writing. To receive free written notice of a security breach (or to withdraw your consent from receiving electronic notice of a security breach) you should notify us.
How We Use The Personal Information We Collect
Our primary purpose in collecting personal information is to provide you with Buzz services in a safe and efficient manner. We may use your personal information to:
- provide Buzz payment services to users in a safe manner
- process payments, topups and withdrawals
- resolve disputes, collect fees, and troubleshoot problems
- prevent potentially fraudulent, prohibited or illegal activities, and enforce our User Agreement
- improve the Buzz ecosystem and service offering through new services or rectifying issues and bugs
- communicate with you regarding new services and terms
- perform other duties as required by law
How We Share Personal Information Within The Buzz Network
To process payments on Buzz, we need to share some of your personal information with the person that you are paying or is paying you. Your first name, surname, mobile number and profile photograph will be shared with the individual on the other side of the payment. We will never share any additional information without your explicit consent.
At times, provided a valid subpoena is produced, Buzz may be required to share personal information with law enforcement.
How We Share Personal Information with Other Parties
Buzz does not share your personal information with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
We may share your personal information with:
- Companies that Buzz plans to merge with or be acquired by or, in the event of any bankruptcy, a bankruptcy estate. Should such a combination occur, we will require that the new combined entity follow this privacy policy with respect to your personal information. If your personal information could be used contrary to this policy, you will receive prior notice and the opportunity to communicate preferences you may have, if applicable.
- Law enforcement, government officials, or other third parties if Buzz is compelled to do so by a subpoena, court order or similar legal procedure, when it is necessary to do so to comply with law, or where the disclosure of personal information is reasonably necessary to prevent physical harm or financial loss, to report suspected illegal activity, or to investigate violations of the Buzz User Agreement, or as otherwise required by law.
- Third party service providers who assist us in providing services to you or who provide fraud detection or similar services on our or any vendor's behalf.
- Service providers under contract who help with parts of our business operations (for example, fraud prevention, payment processing, or technology services); Our contracts dictate that these service providers only use your information in connection with the services they perform for us and not for their own benefit.
- Other third parties with your consent or at your direction to do so.
How You Can Access or Change Your Personal Information
You can review and update your personal information in your account settings at any time by logging into your account.
Links to Other Sites
The website may contain links to other sites. Buzz does not control the information collection of sites that can be reached through links from the website. We encourage our users to be aware when they are leaving the website and to read the privacy statements of any site that collects personally identifiable information.
Changes to Our Privacy Policy
Buzz is always improving and growing. As the Buzz service evolves we may occasionally update this privacy policy. If we modify this privacy policy, we will post the revised privacy policy to the website, and we will also revise the "last updated date" stated above. If we make material changes in the way we use personal information, we will notify you by posting an announcement on our service or by sending you an e-mail. It is your responsibility to periodically review this privacy policy; users are bound by any changes to the privacy policy by using the service after such changes have been first posted.
Consent
When you provide us with personal information, we imply that you consent to our collecting it for the sole purpose of providing Buzz services to you, the user.
If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.
If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by contacting us at support@buzzapp.co.za
